Frequently asked questions

Got a question about ordering containers, delivery or anything else? We've already answered many of the questions we're often asked here. Perhaps yours is among them. If not, use the chat at the bottom of the page or get in touch.

General questions

Can I only order containers online?

Yes, we only accept online orders. That's the only way we can handle all orders quickly and properly. For questions or help with ordering, you can reach us by phone during office hours (Mon to Fri, 7:30 to 17:00).

Are the prices valid throughout the Netherlands?

Our prices are valid throughout the Netherlands, with the exception of the Wadden Islands. There, the costs of the ferry and waiting time are passed on.

Do you live in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen (NL)? Then the Westerschelde Tunnel toll is passed on.

What payment options are there?

You can pay for your container easily via iDEAL, by credit card or afterwards via Klarna. Want to pay afterwards with Klarna? Then you'll be subject to a check. You may receive a message saying you haven't been accepted. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control. You can still pay with iDEAL or credit card instead.

Paying with Klarna? You'll receive a separate email from Klarna with the invoice. Follow the instructions in that email to pay the invoice. Please pay the invoice within 14 days of receiving it.

I haven't received a confirmation of my order

Unfortunately, our emails sometimes end up in the spam folder. We recommend checking there.
You'll receive two confirmations from us: first, a confirmation straight after you place your order. Once we have forwarded the order and the date has been confirmed, you'll receive a confirmation of that too. We only do this during office hours, so there may be some time in between if, for example, you ordered in the evening.

Can I get an invoice in my company name?

During checkout, you can choose to enter a company name. If you fill this in, it will appear on the invoice. You'll receive the invoice as an attachment straight after placing your order. Please note: it may also end up in your spam folder.

Do you regularly need containers for your business (contractors, landscape gardeners)? Then get in touch with us. Through our parent company Wastenet, you can arrange skip hire on a contract basis.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes. If you cancel your order no later than 16.00 one working day before delivery, you'll receive a full refund. If you cancel after 16.00, we will charge cancellation fees.

The cost of cancelling a container up to 10m3 is € 120,00. For containers from 15m3, the cost is € 175,00. We will deduct these costs from the amount you have already paid.
Ordered a Big Bag but don't need it collected? Then you'll be refunded the collection and disposal costs. In this case, you only pay for the Big Bag itself. This costs 39 euros, including shipping costs. The Big Bag is then yours to keep.

Questions about waste skips

How quickly are waste skips delivered?

Orders placed before 16.00 on working days are usually delivered the next working day. We'll send you a confirmation by email as soon as we, in turn, have received confirmation from the haulier.

During busy periods (e.g. the summer months and special days), it isn't always possible to deliver the container the next working day. It will then usually be delivered the day after. Tip: if you want to start on a particular day, have the container delivered a day earlier if possible.

What time will the waste skip be delivered?

All deliveries are planned into a route each day. The delivery time depends on the lorry's route. On the day of delivery, we can check for you whether your container is scheduled for the morning or the afternoon.

During busy periods, not all of our hauliers give a time estimate, as they can't always stick to it. Tip: if you want to start on a particular day, have the container delivered a day earlier if possible.

Will the container be delivered early in the morning?

Our hauliers operate from 7.00 to 18.00. Containers are delivered along the most efficient route possible, at some point within these hours. If you place your order well in advance (2 working days), we can submit a request to the planning team for a morning or afternoon slot. Please note: this doesn't always mean the collector can meet this request. Sometimes unforeseen circumstances also cause the schedule to change.

Tip: if you want to start on a particular day, have the container delivered a day earlier if possible.

How long can the waste skip stay?

The waste skip can stay for up to 6 weeks free of rental charges. Need the container for longer? No problem. After 6 weeks, you pay 15 euros rent per week for a container up to 10m3. For larger containers (14, 20, 40m3), the rent is 35 euros per week. Please note: you need to let us know yourself when the container should be collected. If no collection request is made, a rental invoice will be sent after the container has been collected.

Please note: 6 weeks is the period free of rental charges set by us. Municipalities in the Netherlands use their own periods, which can vary from 48 hours to 8 weeks. So always check this with your municipality.

Can the container stay longer than 6 weeks?

The waste skip can stay for up to 6 weeks free of rental charges. Need the container for longer? No problem. After 6 weeks, you pay 15 euros rent per week for containers up to 10m3. For larger containers (14m3, 15m3, 20m3, 40m3), the rent is 35 euros per week.
Please note: you need to let us know yourself when the container should be collected. As long as no collection request is made, the rent continues until the container is collected.

When will the container be collected?

The waste skip is not collected automatically after 6 weeks. You let us know when it can be taken away.
You can do this as follows:

– Using the collection button in your order confirmation email.
– Via the collection form on the website
– By phone
– Via the chat

If the container stays on site for longer than 6 weeks, rental charges apply from that point onwards. Rental is € 15,00 per week for 3m3, 6m3 and 10m3 containers. For larger containers (14m3, 20m3 and 40m3), rental is 35 euros per week. If no collection request is made, you will receive a rental invoice once the container has been collected.

What does a waste skip cost?

The price of a container depends on the waste type and the capacity of the container. The prices shown include all costs: 6 weeks' rental, VAT, transport and processing costs.

Are there any extra costs?

We charge an all-in rate. However, this is subject to a few conditions:

1. The container holds the correct waste type when it is collected.
If the container holds a waste type that is more expensive than the one you ordered (e.g. you ordered rubble but construction waste was collected), we will send you a correction invoice for the difference.

2. The container can be delivered and collected freely and safely.
If the driver cannot reach the container, or cannot place it because there is not enough space, a wasted journey will be charged. A wasted journey will also be charged if the container is overloaded and cannot be transported safely by road.
A wasted journey costs €120,- incl. VAT.

3. The container holds no mattresses or electrical appliances.
Because of the fire risk, mattresses are not allowed in the container, not even in a bulky waste skip. If the waste processor finds a mattress, a charge of €55,- per mattress will be passed on to you.

A surcharge of 50 euros per appliance applies to electrical appliances. In the Netherlands, these must be taken to a recycling point, such as a DIY store, the municipal recycling centre or an electronics shop. Charity and second-hand shops also accept appliances for repair or for parts.

4. The container stays on site for longer than 6 weeks.
After 6 weeks, you pay €15,00 rental per week for 3m3, 6m3 and 10m3 containers. For larger containers, rental is 35 euros per week. You need to let us know yourself when the container should be collected. If no collection request is made, a rental invoice will be sent once the container has been collected.

Are container prices incl. VAT?

Yes. Prices include all costs, so VAT is included too. If you would like to see prices excl. VAT, click ‘Excl. VAT’ at the top right.

Could I receive an additional charge afterwards?

We charge an all-in rate. However, this is subject to a few conditions:

1. The container holds the correct waste type when it is collected.
If the container holds a waste type that is more expensive than the one you ordered (e.g. you ordered rubble but construction waste was collected), we will send you a correction invoice for the difference.

4. The container stays on site for longer than 6 weeks.
After 6 weeks, you pay €15,00 rental per week for 3m3, 6m3 and 10m3 containers. For larger containers, rental is 35 euros per week. You need to let us know yourself when the container should be collected. Until a collection request is made, rental charges continue to apply and a rental invoice will be sent once the container has been collected.

I ordered a rubble skip, but it now contains construction and demolition waste. Can I change this?

The final contents of the container determine the cost. It is quite possible that you expect to have only rubble, but end up with some construction and demolition waste too. If so, let us know by phone or e-mail before the container is collected, so the waste processor knows where to take the waste. After collection, we will send you a correction invoice for the correct waste type.

What happens if my container holds waste that is not allowed?

After collection, the processor checks the contents of the container, and the container is processed according to what it holds. If it contains waste that is not allowed, the processing rate will be adjusted and you will receive a correction invoice for the additional costs. Do you know in advance that the container will hold other waste? Please let us know when you request collection.

What happens if the container might hold asbestos or asbestos-containing waste?

If asbestos and/or material resembling asbestos is found, the entire contents of the container will be processed as asbestos. This is due to cross-contamination between the asbestos and/or asbestos-like material and the other waste. Processing asbestos is very expensive. Do you suspect asbestos is present? Then never simply throw it in the container. Please contact us.

Can the container be delivered anywhere in the Netherlands?

We deliver containers throughout the Netherlands. However, a surcharge applies for the Wadden Islands and Zeelandic Flanders (NL). Always check in advance which rules your municipality has for placing containers.

How big is a container?

That depends on its volume. A 6 m³ container, for example, is about 3.5 metres long, 1.8 metres wide and 1 metre high. On How big is your container? you can see the dimensions of every container, with a picture. Not sure which size you need? Try the Container Check.

How full can I fill the container?

Our lorries transport the containers (covered with a net) on the motorway, so it is important that no waste can blow or fall off. As a guideline, waste may be filled up to a maximum of 20 centimetres above the rim (provided it is stable), except for Big Bags, 20m3 containers and 40m3 containers. These may only be filled up to the rim.

The driver decides on site whether it is safe to transport the container. If he decides to leave the container where it is, a wasted journey may be charged.

The container has not been collected. What now?

Have you placed a collection request and the container hasn't been collected? Please contact us.

What does a wasted trip cost?

If the container or big bag cannot be collected, we call this a wasted trip. This costs € 120,00 incl. VAT. For large containers (15m3, 20m3 and 40m3 containers), a wasted trip costs € 175,00 incl. VAT.

Questions about wheelie bins

Which wheelie bin do I need?

Every business produces different commercial waste. You may have more of one waste type and want a larger container, or have it emptied more often. If you run a hospitality business, you might think of containers for organic waste, glass, residual waste and paper/cardboard. Ordering for a small office? Then containers for residual waste, paper/cardboard and PD (plastic and drinks cartons) are a better fit. You can easily order a wheelie bin set up for your situation. Would you like some advice? Please contact us and we'll help you work out what suits your business best.

How much does a wheelie bin cost?

That varies per container and waste type, and also depends on how often we empty the container. You'll find an overview of our rates in our price list. Among other things, you pay for transport and for processing the waste type. Some waste types are cheaper to process than residual waste. Paper and cardboard, for example, is a lot cheaper and can be recycled more effectively when it is collected separately. That's why it's worth keeping it separate.

Am I tied to a long-term contract?

You won't be tied to complicated procedures or long-term contracts. You can choose between two types of agreement: an annual contract or a contract you can cancel monthly. If you choose an annual contract, you get a 10% discount. After one year, it automatically converts to a monthly cancellable contract. That way, you're never tied in for long.

I'm a private individual. Can I rent a wheelie bin from you too?

We rent out wheelie bins for commercial waste, which means that unfortunately private individuals can't rent a wheelie bin from us.

When will my wheelie bin be delivered?

We aim to deliver the container on the date you specified in your order. If you indicated that the start date can be as soon as possible, the container will be delivered within 1 week. After ordering, you'll receive a welcome email with the delivery date. The container will then be delivered between 7:00 and 18:00.

When will my wheelie bin be emptied?

You'll receive a waste collection calendar showing exactly which days your commercial waste will be collected over the coming year. If your start date is still a while off, you'll receive the calendar no later than one week before the first collection.

Important: make sure your container is out on the public road on collection day before 7:00 in the morning. We empty containers between 7:00 and 18:00. If a collection is missed, we can schedule an extra collection for a fee. To arrange this, please contact us.

My wheelie bin hasn't been emptied. What now?

We're very sorry about that, and of course we do our best to prevent it. Please contact us and we'll quickly schedule a new collection.

The collection is scheduled on a public holiday. When will my container be emptied now?

We don't empty containers on public holidays. Because the waste collection calendar is generated automatically, collections are sometimes scheduled on a public holiday. About 1 to 2 weeks before the holiday, we'll let you know when the replacement collection day is.

How heavy can the wheelie bin be?

The container may weigh a maximum of 90 kg/m3. This weight is based on normal use. If, for example, there's a lot of food waste in a residual waste container, it can quickly become too heavy. If the container is repeatedly too heavy, the extra weight will be charged. After all, a heavier container also means higher processing costs for the waste.

When will I receive my first invoice?

The monthly amount is collected automatically by direct debit, so you don't need to do anything. We invoice in advance in the first week of the month. If your agreement starts later in the month, you'll receive the invoice the following month. You then pay for the weeks you've had the container, and this is settled together with your free first month.

My wheelie bin is already full but won't be emptied for a while. What now?

Is your container full but the next collection day still a way off? Simply request an extra collection and we'll come by an extra time.

How much does an extra collection for a wheelie bin cost?

The rate for an extra collection varies by container and waste type, but it is generally about the same as the price for emptying once every 4 weeks (it may be slightly more or less), as shown in the rates.

What happens if my wheelie bin contains waste types that are not allowed?

You may only put waste in the bin that it is intended for. You'll find the full list in the acceptance conditions. If other waste is found in the container, it may not be emptied. You will also receive an additional charge.

My annual contract is ending soon. What happens to my contract?

When your annual contract ends, it is automatically renewed at the rate applicable at that time as an agreement you can cancel monthly. You don't need to do anything, and you're not tied in.

How do I cancel my contract?

Want to cancel your contract? We're sorry to hear that. With a monthly rolling contract you can, as the name suggests, cancel any month. If you have an annual contract, it isn't possible to cancel during the year. You can only cancel once the contract ends. Please contact our customer service team to arrange your cancellation.

Can I switch a monthly rolling contract to an annual contract?

You can easily switch a monthly rolling contract to an annual contract and immediately benefit from the competitive annual rate (10% discount). Please contact us and we'll switch it over for you.

My contract has been cancelled. Will I receive a final invoice?

Once the agreement ends, we collect the container from you and clean it. You'll receive a final invoice for the transport and cleaning costs. You can find the rate for this in the terms of the agreement.

Questions about Big Bags

Which Big Bag do I need?

That depends on the waste your job produces. Take a look at the waste types; these pages show for each waste type what can and cannot go in the Big Bag.

How long can the Big Bag stay in place?

There is no maximum rental period for the Big Bag. Once the Big Bag is full, you can use the collection form to let us know it's ready to be collected.

Can you take away my own Big Bag?

Unfortunately, that isn't possible. We can only guarantee the quality required for disposal with our own Big Bags.

Can I cancel my Big Bag order?

The removal and processing of the waste is included in the price of the Big Bag.
Decided you don't want to use this service after all? We can settle this for you. The cost of the Big Bag and shipping is 39 euros. The difference will be refunded.

How do I request a collection?

Is your Big Bag ready to be collected? Then fill in this form.
The Big Bag will be collected within 5 working days. Big Bags must be placed no more than 2 metres from the public road and be freely accessible to the driver. Please make sure no cars are in the way.
If the Big Bag cannot be collected and the driver has made a wasted journey, a wasted journey charge will apply.
