If you've ever carried out a renovation or the decluttering of your home, you'll know that there's often more waste than you first expect. A 6 cubic metre skip can be the perfect solution for getting rid of this waste efficiently and in an environmentally friendly way. But when exactly do you need a 6 m3 skip, and what are the benefits? In this article, we look at the situations in which a 6 cubic metre skip.

5 situations for a 6 cubic metre skip

First, let's look at the situations where a 6 cubic metre skip comes in handy. Think of:

  1. Bathroom renovation: Giving your bathroom a makeover? This often produces a lot of waste, such as old sanitaryware, tiles and rubble. A 6 cubic metre skip is more than big enough for all the waste from an average bathroom renovation.
  2. New kitchen: Fitting a new kitchen also creates a lot of waste. Old kitchen cabinets, worktops and appliances all need to be disposed of. The advantage of a 6 m3 skip is not only that it holds a lot, but also that fairly large items such as worktops fit in. These can often go in in one piece, which saves a lot of work.
  3. Extension/renovation: With building work such as an extension, a dormer or a room renovation, there's often a lot of construction waste. Think wood, insulation and stone. If it's mostly stone-type materials, i.e. rubble, you're often better off choosing a rubble skip and taking any other waste to the recycling centre. Rubble skip hire works out much cheaper.
  4. Pruning the garden: If you're pruning your garden and you've got more than just a few shrubs, you'll soon have a lot of green waste. Especially if the branches are on the larger side, it won't easily fit in your garden waste wheelie bin. Green waste skip hire is a good solution in that case. You can easily throw everything in. There's no need to cut it up, it can go straight in. If you also have fence panels or stones, you'll need a garden waste skip.
  5. New paving:OK, so you're going to repave a path or your front garden. The pallets of new tiles are ready, but what do you do with the old ones? You can have the stones collected and be rid of them straight away. You don't have to take them to the recycling centre, and you won't have a huge pile of pavers sitting in your garden. And a skip for garden tiles or stones isn't expensive at all.

The benefits of a 6 cubic metre skip for rubble

If your waste is mostly stone, in other words rubble, we recommend a 6 m3 skip. Why? Rubble is a cheap waste type to process, so a 6 cubic metre skip for rubble costs only a little more than a 3m3 skip. Going for a 6 cubic metre skip saves you a lot of hassle and money. You often end up with more than you thought, and a second skip hire costs a lot more.
