I want to swap my container. How does that work?

Is the job taking longer? Got more waste than you expected? Or do you already know one container won't be enough? If you need an extra container, you can arrange it in a few clicks.

Haven't started the job yet, but can't decide between two container sizes? In that case, always go for the larger size. When you have a container swapped, you pay the full rental price for the container again. So if you need to order an extra container, you'll end up paying more than if you had chosen a larger container in the first place.

Swapping a waste skip

Busy with your project and the container is already full? A new container can be on your doorstep in just a few clicks. How? In 3 simple steps:

  1. Start the process the same way you ordered your first container and choose a container size.
  2. Then choose the right waste type. Are you throwing away the same waste type, or did you start with a wood waste skip for taking down the fence and are you moving on to a roofing waste skip for removing the shed roof? Not sure which container you need? Take a look at the different waste types for more information or try the Container Check for personal advice.
  3. Order and pay for the container just like the first time, but at checkout tick the box Swap container? (optional) . That way we know there's already a container at the same address that needs to be swapped. So you don't need to arrange a separate collection for your old container.

How long does it take for my container to be swapped?

For all containers ordered before 16.00 today, delivery is usually the next working day. This also applies to container swaps. Container deliveries are scheduled one day in advance. This means all addresses are planned as efficiently as possible across the working day. That way the available time is used efficiently and only a limited number of kilometres are driven, so there are no unnecessary CO2 emissions. A working day runs from 07.00 in the morning to 17.30 in the evening.

Handy tip: When checking out, you can indicate a preference for a time of day (morning or afternoon). We will then do our very best to stick to it. Want to know what time your skip will be delivered? We only have the final schedule on the day of delivery itself. From 07.30 you can call or email us to ask what time the skip will be delivered.

How long can my skip stay?

Once the waste skip has been delivered, it can stay for up to 4 weeks free of rental charges. If you've had the skip exchanged, it can stay for another 4 weeks at no extra cost. When you've finished your job, you need to let us know yourself that the skip should be collected. This does not happen automatically! The easiest way to request a collection is via the ‘collect’ button in your order confirmation e-mail.

Is your job taking longer and do you need the skip for a little while more? No problem! After 4 weeks you pay €15,00 rental per week. In this case, too, you need to let us know yourself when the skip should be collected. As long as you don't send us a collection request, a new rental invoice will be sent every week.
