Get rid of rubble in a few clicks

If you're renovating or remodelling your home, you'll know how quickly rubble builds up. Getting rid of it can be a challenge, especially if you have nowhere to store it. Fortunately, you can hire rubble skips to collect the rubble and have it taken away.

What is rubble?

Rubble is the waste material produced during construction or demolition work. It can consist of bricks, reinforced concrete, roof tiles and tiles, but also paving bricks and garden paving slabs. Basically any kind of stone. Rubble is also often called clean rubble. It is rubble that isn't contaminated with hazardous substances such as asbestos or chemical waste. It is taken to processing centres where it is recycled. Clean rubble is a valuable raw material and an important part of the circular economy.

Rubble skip hire

Do you have a lot of rubble and don't want your car covered in grit and dust? Or don't you have a trailer and simply don't fancy the long queues at the recycling centre? Then hire a rubble skip. Hiring a container has lots of advantages, including:

  • Easy storage – The rubble is kept in the skip until it's taken away. This means it doesn't have to sit on site, in your garden or on your driveway.
  • Environmentally friendly – Rubble skips ensure the rubble is disposed of responsibly. It is taken to processing centres where it is recycled.
  • Save time and effort – You no longer have to transport the rubble yourself, and you can carry on with your renovation without worrying about it.
  • Safe – With no (sharp) chunks of stone lying around, there's less risk of accidents.

Do you have other waste types as well? Then order a construction waste skip. You can put rubble in it, as well as other waste.

What size rubble skip do you need?

How big the skip needs to be obviously depends on how much waste you produce, but don't be fooled. Rubble goes loose into the skip. If you have 3m3 of wall, a 3m3 skip won't be enough. Bear this in mind and go for a bigger skip instead. There's usually more than you think.

Rubble skips are available in various sizes. A 1m3 Big Bag, and a rubble skip 6m3, 3m3 and 15m3. There is no 10m3 skip, because the lorry can't lift it due to the weight. Instead, there is a 15m3 rubble skip. It is transported in a different way, so it can handle the weight.

Getting rid of stones when doing up your garden

Removing old paving and laying new paving is sometimes necessary to redesign and refresh your garden. But how do you dispose of the stones responsibly? A rubble skip is the perfect solution for clearing away stones and other waste while doing up your garden. That's why it's sometimes called a skip for garden tiles. It's easy to place and has a large capacity, so you can get rid of all the stones and waste in one go. No more trips back and forth to the recycling centre, so you can simply get on with the job.

Rubble: from sorting to processing

Although rubble is often seen as waste, it contains valuable materials that can be reused. Recycling rubble is important for the circular economy, in which raw materials are reused as much as possible.

Step 1: Separating clean rubble

An important step in the recycling process is separating out clean rubble. Clean rubble is rubble that is free of contamination, such as asbestos, paint or other hazardous substances. By separating clean rubble, you ensure it can be recycled safely and responsibly.

Step 2: Transport to the waste processor

Once the rubble has been separated, it is taken to a waste processor. Waste processors specialise in processing rubble and have the right machinery and facilities to do so responsibly.

Step 3: Processing and recycling rubble

Once it arrives at the waste processor, the actual recycling process begins. The rubble is processed using special machines, such as screens and sorting installations. It is then processed further and turned into new raw materials. Concrete, for example, is crushed and reused in new building materials.
