29 oktober 2019 · Ruud Bats

Lots of people choose to order a waste skip online rather than take their waste to the recycling centre. That’s down to the speed of delivery and the convenience of not having to drive back and forth yourself. Many construction companies, landscape gardeners and contractors also order their skips quickly online. Do you need a skip regularly for your business? Then you can also make use of our skip service.

Arranging a order a skip online is incredibly easy. Choose a skip size and a waste type, and in most cases the skip will be delivered to your door the next working day. The benefits?

Why choose skip hire

Of course, skip hire is convenient. We drop off the skip, you fill it, we take it away and you're rid of your waste. It saves you lots of time, keeps your car clean and/or means you don't have to hire a trailer. What's more, the municipal recycling centre will usually only accept a maximum of 1 cubic metre (or sometimes less) of construction waste. Municipalities that do accept more construction waste will charge a fee after the first cubic metre, and these costs can add up quickly. When you do the maths, hiring a skip works out cheaper. Affordable, and it saves you time and money. Nothing but advantages.

Order a skip in 3 steps

  1. Choose a skip size (Not sure? Then go one size up. Having to order an extra skip will end up costing you more.
  2. Choose a waste type (See all waste types or take the ContainerCheck for advice)

Skip sizes

The waste skip for construction waste comes in 3 different sizes and 4 versions.

The 3m3 skip, also known as the “3 cubic metre skip”, The 6m3 skip, also known as the “6 cubic metre skip”, The 10m3 skip, also known as the “10 cubic metre skip” The closed 10m3 skip, also known as the “closed 10 cubic metre skip”,

Skip hire by waste type

ContainerOnline has waste skips for lots of different waste types. Which skip you need depends on the types of waste you’ll be getting rid of. What can and can’t go in the skip? Check the different waste types for more information or try the Container Check for personal advice.

Skip hire: do you need a permit?

Whether you need a permit depends on where the skip will be placed and in which municipality. On your own property, you can always place a skip without a permit. Want to place a skip on council land, such as a parking space, the pavement or the street? Then check the rules in your municipality. In some municipalities a simple notification is enough, or you only need to ask for permission by phone. In others you need an exemption or even a need a permit. We've gathered this information for you, but as the rules can change, it's always a good idea to check for yourself.

Cheaper skip hire

At ContainerOnline we always guarantee a competitive rate. We only work with fixed all-in prices. This means you know exactly what you'll pay in advance, with no surprises afterwards. This fixed price covers delivery and collection of the skip, as well as processing of the waste. Prices are always incl. VAT. Once delivered, the skip can stay for 4 weeks free of rental charges.

* Always check with your local council whether the skip may be placed on the pavement. You don't need a permit on your own driveway or in your garden.
