Need stones collected? Hire a rubble skip

4 mei 2021 · Ruud Bats

Do you have old bricks, garden tiles or other types of stone you want to get rid of? You can't just throw stones in your wheelie bin. Not only is it bad for the environment, it's also dangerous and will damage the bin. On top of that, there's a good chance you'll be hit with a hefty additional charge for breaking the rules. Rubble and construction waste are not allowed in the residual waste bin. So what should you do with all that rubble? You can easily have the stones collected by hiring a rubble skip.

Getting stones collected: 6m3 rubble skip

A Rubble skip hire is really easy. You order a container and we place it outside your door. You fill the rubble skip with all your rubble, such as old bricks, tiles, concrete or other types of stone. When the container is full, click ‘collect’ and we'll come and pick up the stones.

6m3 rubble skip

A rubble skip 6m3 is often enough for a patio, garden path or paved front garden. It does depend on how thick the stones or tiles are, though. The thicker they are, the more space they take up. If you've worked out that 3m3 will be enough, order a 6m3 anyway. You often end up with more rubble than you expected, and a 6m3 is only a few tenners more than a 3m3 because rubble is an easy waste type to process. A 10m3 rubble skip doesn't exist, so it would be two 6 cubic metre containers or a 15m3 rubble skip.

Jobs in the garden

A rubble skip isn't just handy for building projects and DIY jobs, but also for garden jobs you might not have thought of. If you want to redo your patio or a path, for example, you hire a skip for garden tiles or stones. That way you don't have to drive back and forth to the recycling centre, and you save time and effort by simply having your stones collected.

Environmentally conscious

It's important to deal with your waste in an environmentally conscious way. Having stones collected in a container is a sustainable choice. The rubble that's taken away is sorted and recycled, so the materials can be reused and less new material needs to be produced. This way, you contribute to a sustainable society and avoid putting unnecessary strain on the environment.

Time, energy and cleaning

Having tiles and stones collected is easy, quick and sustainable. A 6m3 rubble skip usually gives you plenty of space, and you don't have to haul everything to the recycling centre yourself. That saves a lot of time, and a dirty car too, because there's always soil and dirt stuck to tiles and stones.
