Help! I won't be home when my skip is delivered

15 oktober 2019 · Ruud Bats

You're doing some DIY and have ordered a waste skip from us. Good thinking! But then you receive the delivery confirmation and panic sets in! You won't be home when the skip is delivered. What now?

No problem! We'll deliver the skip even if you're not home. That way you don't have to cancel important appointments or wait in all day. It is, however, useful to make sure the skip ends up in the right spot. So we've put together a few tips to ensure your skip is always placed correctly.

#1 Tell us where the skip should go

When ordering, clearly state in the 'comments' box where the skip should be placed. For example, in the parking space in front of the house, to the left of the garage or in the garden. The driver will see these instructions, so keep them clear and specific.

#2 Reserve the chosen spot

Reserve or mark the spot where the skip should go and mention this in your order, so we can let the driver know. You could mark the spot with some tape or by putting a traffic cone in front of it, for example.

#3 Let your neighbours know

Tell your neighbours that a skip is being delivered. That way they'll know, for example, not to use a particular parking space that day, and perhaps a helpful neighbour will even check that the skip is put in the right place. It's also a good moment to mention that the neighbours must not throw any of their own materials into the skip. Read more tips here on how to prevent unwanted waste from others ending up in your skip.
